Macrobiotic Diet

Currently i'm reading the Art of Peace by Morihei Ueshiba the founder of Akido. Interestingly he vehemently advocates the macrobiotic diet. Which is a sort of veggie/eastern and western/Japensish diet although you can have meat and fish - the focus is on natural/raw founds and grains - lighter food to increase chi energy. Its extremely difficult and require a regime of strong discipline. Something I used to have but due to several lifestyle shifts I haven't not been able to manage anything like it in the past 2 years. As fate would have it I am moving again literally and metaphysically. For the next 5 months it looks like I will be preparing dinner for the house, so I know have dietary control. The Challenge I face living in Singapore is the extreme variety of amazing fast food this place offers is mind blowing, so temptation will be a major road block. However it is also a blessing because many macrobiotic recipes reference Chinese and local(South East Asian ) medicinal herbs and food bases. I have noticed I lot of minor illness have been ravaging me lately - head aches, stomach aches - diarrhea and bloatedness/heart burn - mood swings. I have a causal exercise regime which definitely equivalent to 2 - 3 workouts a week I never drink anymore either, but my diet whilst not to bad could use a tune up. Interestingly some evidence has been produce that many Asian men despite being smokers were able to avoid lung cancer and live into their 70 - 80s due to the macrobiotic diet, not that I smoke but it highlights what eating the right food really can do.

The end result of this exercise is hopefully I can whip up some tasty Alchemical foods to enhance the energy flow of my body. :D
